Everton FC targeting a shock move for English striker

According to reports from the Liverpool Echo, Everton are planning a surprise swoop for Burnley attacker Andre Gray this summer.

Everton already seem to be resigned to the fact that they will be losing the services of star striker Romelu Lukaku this summer and manager Ronald Koeman is said to be looking to acquire potential replacements for the wantaway Belgian international as soon as possible.

The likes of Wayne Rooney, Jamie Vardy and Sandro Ramirez are just some of the names that have been touted to make a move to Goodison Park over the past few weeks and now in surprise reports from the Liverpool Echo, claims have been made that Everton are keen on signing Burnley attacker Andre Gray.

Gray was in sensational form during the 2015/16 season, scoring 23 goals in 41 Championship appearances and his contribution in front of goal helped Burnley win promotion into the Premier League.

The 25-year-old was not so prolific last season in the English top flight, managing only 9 Premier League strikes but his goals were crucial in Burnley avoiding relegation into the Championship in very comfortable fashion.

Gray has now entered the final year of his contract at Turf Moor and it is believed that the English striker is open to making a move to greener pastures during the current summer transfer window.

Everton have now been revealed as one of the clubs keen on securing the services of Gray and a bid of around £15million could see the Toffees land the services of the ex-Hinckley United star.
