Everton handed permission to hold talks with prolific striker

According to reports from Italian newspaper Il Mattino, Everton have been handed the green light to hold talks with Napoli attacker Duvan Zapata.

Everton have made a huge splash in the summer transfer market so far by acquiring the services of Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez for a huge outlay and the arrival of the trio most certainly improves the Toffees’ hopes of earning a top four finish in the Premier League during the upcoming season.

That said, manager Ronald Koeman is still looking to further improve his squad in the coming weeks and there have been widespread reports that the Toffees are now close to signing defender Michael Keane for big money during the next 24 hours.

On the other side of the spectrum, Everton look set to lose the services of star striker Romelu Lukaku and despite the arrival of Sandro, Koeman is planning to acquire another prolific frontman.

Recently, reports have been gathering steam claiming that Everton are interested in signing Napoli attacker Duvan Zapata and in a further update to the story, Italian outlet Il Mattino has claimed that the Toffees have been given permission to hold talks with the Colombian attacker.

Napoli are said to be willing to allow Zapata to leave for a fee of around £20million and Everton are looking to stave off competition from Italian outfit Torino in order to sign the striker who has scored 18 goals during the last two seasons out on loan with Udinese.
