Everton set to complete £22 million signing this week

Premier League outfit Everton are on the verge of securing the services of Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin for a fee believed to be in the region of around £22 million, according to reports emerging out of England.

Everton have endured a roller coaster campaign so far but they have managed to find a bit of consistency in recent times and are currently occupying 7th place in the Premier League table.

A place in the top four is out of the question for Everton but manager Ronald Koeman would most certainly be keen on his side to at least claim a Europa League spot this term.

With the competition so fierce in the English top flight, Koeman is believed to be keen on strengthening his squad during the current January transfer window in order to improve the Toffees’ chances of a European finish and Morgan Schneiderlin has widely been touted as the main target for the Merseyside based outfit.

Schneiderlin has struggled for regular minutes on the pitch at Old Trafford following his £24 million move from Southampton at the start of last season and the French international looks all but certain to be leaving Old Trafford this month.

Having enjoyed a very successful relationship with Schneiderlin at Southampton, Koeman is understandably keen on reuniting with the 27-year-old as he is seemingly available on the market and the Everton boss initially had made a £19 million bid to get the deal done.

United immediately rejected the offer as they want to recoup most of the £24 million they splashed out on Schneiderlin and now according to reports from the Daily Star, revelations can be made that Everton have managed to agree a fee of around £22 million with the Red Devils over the midfielder.

The report adds that Schneiderlin has already agreed personal terms with Everton and the transfer is now set to be coming into fruition within this week.
