Everton to follow up Wayne Rooney deal with £30million signing next week

Goodison Park

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Everton will be unveiling another major signing next week by acquiring Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Everton have been making a real impact in the transfer market so far this summer and the Toffees have completed arguably their biggest deal in many years by bringing back prodigal son Wayne Rooney from Manchester United recently.

A few remain unconvinced as Rooney is currently not the player he once was but there is no doubting that the 31-year-old has brought back the feel good factor at Goodison Park.

Despite the arrival of Rooney, Everton are far from done with their business in the transfer market though and now revelations from the Daily Mirror state that the Merseyside outfit are set to splash the cash once again by recruiting the services of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson has been one of the most productive attacking midfielders in the Premier League over the past few years and it is no secret that Ronald Koeman is a keen admirer of the Icelandic international.

As a result, Everton have been involved in a negotiation over the signing of Sigurdsson for quite a while now and following protracted talks, the Toffees finally look set to capture the 27-year-old.

Reports state that Everton will be splashing close to £30million in order to acquire the services of Sigurdsson and the ex-Tottenham star is expected to be unveiled as an Everton player within the next week.
