Everton are believed to be ready to reject an offer by Greek club Olympiakos for winger Kevin Mirallas, according to reports.
Kevin Mirallas was recently accused of an attitude problem by Everton manager Ronald Koeman and this had led many to speculate regarding the long term future of the tricky winger at Goodison Park.
Manager Ronald Koeman revealed recently that Mirallas was struggling to deal with not being in the team and was also critical of his lack of professionalism. The Dutch tactician also revealed that Mirallas was dropped because of his “attitude” in Everton’s recent Premier League game against Chelsea.
Following the snub this Sunday the player is said to be unsettled at the club and Olympiakos are allegedly looking to take benefit of the situation by luring the winger away from Goodison Park.
Mirallas had previously featured for Olympiakos from 2010 to 2012 and impressed consistently for the Greek side, scoring 34 goals in 52 league appearances and such form earned him a transfer to Everton five seasons ago. As a result, a move back to Greece had been seen as a possibility for him.
However, it has now been reported that the Toffees are ready to reject any approach for the Belgian this summer. The playing time for Mirallas has been limited during the current campaign, since Everton’s switch to a back three and it remains to be seen as to whether the attacker is happy in such a fringe role.
Nevertheless, the 29-year-old still possesses the talent to regularly feature at the highest level and Ronald Koeman clearly believes that he has a role to play for the team this season.
