Everton want to sign 3-time Premier League winning defender

Everton are currently considering a move for West Bromwich Albion centre back Jonny Evans, according to reports from the Sun.

Everton are clearly intent on making a huge mark in the current transfer window and the Toffees have proven this fact by splashing the cash to secure the services of Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen for big money so far.

The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Sandro Ramirez also continue to be linked with a move to Everton in recent times and with the potential signing of the duo, the Merseyside outfit’s spending in the summer is expected to exceed £100million.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman certainly does not seem to be fazed by the prospect of spending over the odds though and now according to reports from The Sun, the Dutchman is currently plotting a shock move for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans.

Evans has proven himself to be one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League over the past two seasons and the Northern Irishman has managed to grab the attention from a host of clubs due to his fine performances.

Koeman is one of the many figures who is said to have been left impressed with Evans and the Everton boss is now plotting a move to sign the 29-year-old this summer.

Phil Jagielka is entering the twilight of his career and Evans could well prove to be a more than capable replacement for the veteran defender.
