Onyekuru will not get a return to Everton in January

Henry Onyekuru will have to wait until the summer to earn a return back to Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Onyekuru signed for Everton from Eupen during the summer transfer window but after failing to obtain the work permit to play in England, the Toffees were forced to send the player out on loan to Anderlecht until the end of the season.

However, recent struggles to get goals for the Merseyside club has tempted manager Ronald Koeman to recall the young striker before the loan period expires as the striker is enjoying a goal spree for the Belgian outfit.

In order to bring the striker to Goodison Park in January, it was reported that the Everton were going to activate the “special talent” clause in the work permit.

However, recent reports have suggested that it will be impossible for the Premier League strugglers to recall their in-form forward as there seems to be no “recall” clause attached during the loan move of Onyekuru.
