Sam Allardyce sacked as Everton manager

Our club has just confirmed our manager Sam Allardyce has left the club with immediate effect.

According to reports Farhad Moshiri met “Big” Sam Allardyce this morning and he was told him his time had come to an end at our club. The overall decision comes following an Everton Football Clubb board meeting yesterday.

It was never any secret that Allardyce plays terrible football and most fans are sick and tired of watching long ball defensive play every week. That is not what Evertonians expect and the majority of the fans won’t tolerate it, even if overall results and league position are ok.

Marco Silva is the early favourite to be the next permanent manager, according to the odds at leading online and mobile football betting sites. But there are a few other candidates as well who are worth considering.

More to follow… but some quotes coming out of our club:

Denise Barrett-Baxendale “On behalf of the Chairman, Board of Directors and Mr Moshiri, I’d like to thank Sam for the job he has done at Everton over the last seven months. “Sam was brought in at a challenging time last season to provide us with some stability and we are grateful to him for doing that.”

“However, we have made the decision that, as part of our longer-term plan, we will be appointing a new manager this summer and will be commencing this process immediately. Again, we’d like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sam for his work with us over the last few months and wish him well for the future.”
