West Ham United vs Everton: Match Preview

Venue: Olympic Stadium

Date: 22/04/2017

Kick-off: 15:00 (BST)

West Ham United welcome Everton to the Olympic Stadium on Saturday and both teams will surely be looking to win the clash but for very different reasons.

Everton continued their fine run of form with a 3-1 victory over Burnley last weekend and the three points claimed during the clash means that the Toffees have strengthened their grip on seventh place in the Premier League table.

With the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal all winning though, Everton have been unable to move closer to a top four finish but nonetheless, manager Ronald Koeman will want his players to continue their fine run of form.

Up next for Everton is an encounter against West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium and the match is certain to be a tough test for the Toffees.

Everton Team News

Everton have no fresh injury concern to deal with ahead of the game but the likes of Muhamed Besic, Yannick Bolasie, Seamus Coleman, Ramiro Funes Mori, Aaron Lennon and James McCarthy are all long term absentees while the Enner Valencia is ineligible to face his parent club.

Joel Robles will continue in goal while the experienced trio of Ashley Williams, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines will start at the backline alongside the young Mason Holgate.

In midfield Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin will most likely start at the middle of the park and the attacking trident should consist of Ross Barkley, Tom Davies and Kevin Mirallas.

Romelu Lukaku has been in sensational form at the moment and he will look to continue the fine run in front of goal against the leaky West Ham backline as well.

Probable Lineups

West Ham United (Probable XI): Randolph; Cresswell, Fonte, Reid, Nordtveit; Koutaye, Fernandes, Lanzini, Feghouli, Snodgrass; Ayew

Everton (Probable XI): Robles; Baines, Jagielka, Williams, Holgate; Mirallas, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Barkley, Davies; Lukaku

0/10/2016 Everton 2 – 0 West Ham United

05/03/2016 Everton 2 – 3 West Ham United

Prediction

West Ham are in a difficult run at the moment while Everton are doing very well and should be favourites to claim the three points.

That said, the match is certain to be a very closely fought affair and Everton will have to play very well in order to be able to win against the Hammers side fighting for the lives near the bottom end of the Premier League table.

West Ham United 1-2 Everton
