Everton Transfer Rumors: Ranocchia, Yarmolenko and Embolo

Everton have made a fine start to their Premier League campaign so far and are currently looking a very good bet to challenge for a European place this season.

In order to do so though, it is clear that manager Roberto Martinez will need to strengthen his side during the January transfer window and a host of names have already started being linked with the Toffees.

Here are the few rumours doing the rounds in the papers in recent times.

Andrea Ranocchia

Andrea Ranocchia

Despite being placed as club captain, Andrea Ranocchia has had regular first minutes on the pitch at Inter hard to come by this season and it has been widely reported that the defender will be looking to leave San Siro in January as a result.

Everton were consistently linked with a move for Ranocchia during the summer and with the Italian international now seemingly made available, the Toffees will be looking to make their move upon the reopening of the transfer window.

Everton will be facing a lot of competition in their hopes of signing Ranocchia though as the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are also all said to be closely monitoring the situation of the 27-year old.

Andriy Yarmolenko

Another player in whom Everton have had a long standing interest in is Ukrainian star Andriy Yarmolenko.

Despite having failed with their bid for Yarmolenko over the summer, Everton have been keeping tabs on the 25-year old and recent reports claim that the Toffees will reignite their pursuit for the attacking midfielder.

Yarmolenko’s contract at Dynamo Kiev will be expiring at the end of the current campaign and Everton are confident of luring their top target to Goodison Park in January as the Ukrainian side would prefer to cash in on the 25-year old rather than lose him for free next summer.

Breel Embolo

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is always on the lookout for promising young players and the latest talent who has seemingly caught the eye of the Spaniard is Swiss wonderkid Breel Embolo.

Embolo has been creating waves in the Swiss Super League over the past few years and as a result, it has been no surprise to see the 18-year old being hailed as the next superstar to emerge from the nation.

A host of top clubs are monitoring Embolo at the moment but Everton are looking to steal a march on their rivals by making a move quickly.

Recently, it was reported that German side Wolfsburg had a bid close to £20million rejected for Embolo by Basel and Everton will surely have to break the bank in order to sign the youngster.
